To promote excellence in and access to the creation, experience, and active support of the arts for all the people of our community; manage the Durham Arts Council building; provide grant information to artists and arts groups; produce CenterFest; and run arts education programs.
Durham CARES mission is to heal and transform the lives of impoverished Black children by recruiting, training, and mobilizing caring Black
men and women to mentor and care for them. We connect mentors to local youth-serving organizations.
To teach choral music to youth in the Durham NC community and to share their talents via public performance.
To provide free, confidential services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The purpose of our program is to foster responsible behavior among Durham’s young people, to deter court-referred youth from becoming repeat offenders and to decrease the dropout rate of students in Durham school.
