The Land Loss Prevention Project was founded in 1982 by the North Carolina Association of Black Lawyers to curtail epidemic losses of Black owned land in North Carolina. Land Loss Prevention Project was incorporated in the state of North Carolina in 1983. The organization broadened its mission in 1993 to provide legal support and assistance to all financially distressed and limited resource farmers and landowners in North Carolina.
To provide children with quality legal advocacy focusing on domestic violence issues, high conflict custody cases and ensuring access to education.
To ensure that the poor and needy receive a full measure of justice.
We collaborate with community partners to respond to and prevent child abuse.
To provide free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justive and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.
To support the development of safe, stable, nurturing relationships for children in their families and communities to prevent child abuse and neglect.
To help youth become confident, productive members of their community through the offering of their time and talents and through challenging recreational activities.
To improve the quality of life in Charlotte Mecklenburg by restoring offenders to their families and our community, helping them find work, and reducing recidivism.
